More About Safety at Facebook

Joe Sullivan announced on July 26 that Facebook has launched a new “Facebook Safety Page”. They expect to regularly post relevant content into their expanded “Safety Center”. It appears the Safety Center is where service users can look for new Facebook initiatives related to safety as well as for educational materials form “Internet safety experts” which will include members of their Safety Advisory Board.

Facebook states, ” The Safety Page is modeled after our popular Security Page, which discusses best practices for maintaining data security and has grown to over 2.2 million fans.”

The Facvebook post goes on to assure us that Facebook will continue to develop new ways to promote safety on their service.

Facebook promises, “By liking the Safety Page, you also can make safety a regular part of your Facebook experience.”
